What is Nanotechnology

Named according to the Greek word "Nanos" = midget the Nanotechnology is the research and technological development on an atomic level in a scale of one till one hunderted nanometres. A nanometer is the millionth part of a millimetre. The diameter of a human hair is fifty thousand times bigger. The aim of Nanotechnology is to create and to use structures, devices and systems which have due to its low size new characteristics and functions.

This is successful according to the special surface structure of the leafs. Because of that no dirt can stick and wind or rain can easily remove the dirt.
